Controls Engineer – Control Systems

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer who enjoys hands-on work with advanced systems in a fast-paced, technical environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and manage point-to-point wiring terminations, device checkouts, and drawing markups
- Assist with setup and installation of field devices per project specifications and schematics
- Calibrate instrumentation and valve actuators and support field start-up activities
- Execute checkout and start-up of control systems (DCS, PLC, etc.) and network components
- Troubleshoot control systems at the network, controller, I/O, and device levels
- Set up, configure, and maintain PC-based workstations in automation environments
- Provide technical support for customer contracts, including preventive maintenance and emergency services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering is preferred – Associate degree (HVAC, MET, EET) with 2+ years of relevant experience will be considered
- Experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, and/or DDC systems (Exposure to Emerson DeltaV, Wonderware, or Rockwell platforms is a plus)
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and BACnet (serial/TCP)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and system drawings
- Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work near high-voltage electrical systems
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules based on project and customer needs
