Job Overview
A major industrial mining operation is actively seeking multiple skilled Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanics to support underground operations in the Detroit area. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of heavy mining equipment.

Position Overview
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and major component rebuilds
- Work on equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators, drills, and conveyors
- Use technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues
- Complete welding and structural repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Follow strict safety standards in an underground mining environment
Ideal Candidate Background
- 4+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
- Experience working on dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, or similar equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems troubleshooting
- Michigan Mechanic Certification (Required)
- CAT (Caterpillar) certification strongly preferred
- Ability to work underground in demanding conditions
- Ability to work 55+ hours per week with varying shifts (days/nights/weekends)
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay: $32.30 – $35.30/hour
